Montreal Police responded to a 911 call reporting an armed assault around 5 a.m on June 23rd, at the intersection of Charleroi Street and Lacordaire Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found the man unconscious with stab wounds to his upper body, according to SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.

The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries, Chèvrefils confirmed later that day. He has been identified as Antonio Venditti.

Tommy Langevin, 40, was taken into custody at the scene and charged with murder. He has a prior history involving the death of his father in Forestville in 2009. At the time, Langevin was accused of first-degree murder, but a judge in Baie-Comeau later found him not criminally responsible for that death.

The case is being handled by the Major Crime Unit and remains under investigation. This incident marks the 17th homicide reported in Montreal so far this year.
