Joshua Brendan Bamfo and Mahad Abdirahman Ainanshe shot to death in Calgary

Calgary police were called to the 0 to 100 block of Evanscrest Manor N.W., for reports of gunshots on April 20th at approximately 3:10pm.

Police arrived at the scene to find Joshua Brendan Bamfo, 25, and Mahad Abdirahman Ainanshe, 23, of Calgary, deceased in a vehicle. Police arrested a person of interest on April 22, however that person has since been released.

Update: suspect killed by police – Nadia El-Dib found dead in a Marlborough Park backyard

Calgary police were called to the 1000 block of Maitland Drive N.E., after a woman in her 20s was found dead in the backyard of a house, on March 25th at approximately 9:30am.

Police said that evidence at the scene led them to believe the woman’s death is suspicious. An autopsy was performed and revealed that the death of Nadia El-Dib, 22, was a homicide and the cause of death, multiple stab wounds.

Abderrahmane (Adam) Bettahar, 21, is wanted on a Canada wide warrant for the first-degree murder of Nadia El-Dib. Bettahar is described as 6’0” tall, slim build, light skin, brown hair and brown eyes. He is believed to be driving a 2004 dark blue Ford Explorer with the Alberta licence plate BZH 5688.

Update
RCMP said an officer saw a man believed to be Abderrahmane (Adam) Bettahar, at approximately 5:15pm on March 29th. The suspect failed to stop for police, and a pursuit ensued. A spike belt was deployed and the damaged vehicle finally stoped at 6:30pm in the area of Highway 16 at Highway 22, back near Entwistle. Bettahar shot Sgt. Brian Topham who is in hospital recovering frm non-life threatening injuries. Bettahar was then shot and killed by police. The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) is investigating incident.

Darby Chase Shade Soop found dead in Calgary

Calgary Police were called to a home in the 1100 block of 37 Street S.W. at approximately 10:30 pm, January 16th on  reports of a disturbance.

Police arrived to find several people fleeing what appeared to be a house party. The victim, Darby Soop, 26, was found deceased across the street in the mall parking lot.

 Police are looking oking to speak to Christian Whitebear and Matthew Crane-Watchmaker in relation to the death of Soop.

Newborn baby girl found dead in Calgary parking lot

Police are searching for the mother of a newborn who was left in a parking lot behind the Bownesian Grocer on December 24th between the hours of 3pm and 11:30pm.

Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta said a resident found a deceased baby girl in the area. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.

An argument between siblings turns fatal in Calgary

Calgary police were called to the 0-100 block of Rundlehorn Terrace N.E., for reports of a man in medical distress on Thursday December 7th at approximately 1am.

Police and paramedics arrived at the scene to find a 29 year old man in serious condition. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. The cause of death has not been released at this time.

Police say that it is alleged that siblings got into an argument where the younger brother received a fatal injury. Police arrested the victim’s 34 year old brother at the scene. Second degree murder charges are pending.

The name of the victim will be released once his next of kin is notified.

Update
Wayne Runner, 34, is charged with one count of second-degree following an altercation that left his brother, Cory Runner, 29, deceased.

Calgary Homicide 26 – Man found dead in Forest Lawn

Calgary police were called to a residence in the 1800 block of 38 Street S.E. on November 15th at approximately 12:30 pm on report of a man in medical distress.

On arrival police said  “officers experienced the impacts of pepper spray”. Once they were able to search the home police located the victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are searching for 29 year old  Deibi Francisco Monterroso Salazar (Pictured below). Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide Tip Line at 403-428-8877.

Update November 16th
Deibi Francisco Monterroso Salazar was located by RCMP in the  Strathmore area, where he was arrested without incident.

Update November 22
Calgary police have identified the victim as Humberto Panameno 36. The estranged spouse of the accused said Humberto Panameno sacrificed his life to save her and her children and mother.

Update Calgary Homicide 25 – 15 year old boy dies after serious assault

Officers responded to a call in the 5500 block of Maddock Drive N.E on November 15th at approximately 5am on report of an assault.

Police located a 15 year old in medical distress. The boy was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

A suspect has been taken into custody. Investigators believe there is no risk to the public.

Police said a homicide occurred at the same address in 2016.

Update November 22
A 16 year old boy has been charged with first degree murder in the stabbing death of 15 year old Leslie Sunwalk. Police said the victim and the accused were known to each other, and the stabbing was not random.

Homicide Unit investigating Ranchlands death

Calgary police were called to the area of Ranchero Rise N.W. approximately 4pm  where a man was found dead in a vehicle, parked in an alley.

Police said that at this time this death is not believed to be connected to the Pineridge death on Friday.

An autopsy has been scheduled for this week to determine the identity of the victim and cause of death. No other information is available at this time.

Update Charges laid – Homicide team called after suspicious death in N.E Calgary

Calgary police were called to the 100 block of Pineside Place N.E. on Friday November 3rd at approximately 3:50pm on report of a dead body being found in a home.

Police said The Homicide Investigation Team has been called in and that no other information will be released at this time.

More information will be added as it becomes available.

Update November 7th
Christopher Thomas Dejarlais, 41, of Calgary, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Randeep Dhaliwal. Police believe the suspect and victim were known to eachother.

Update Victim Identified – Man in his 20’s found dead in Calgary

Calgary Police were called to an apartment building in the 3400 block of 31 A Avenue S.E. on October 28th at approximately 3:30am.

On arrival police located a man in his 20’s deceased. The Homicide unit has taken over the investigation. Police said the name of the victim will be released once the autopsy is complete.

Update November 2
Police have identified the victim as  Mvemba Eriq Afonso, 23. Mourad Gasmi, 21, and Shannoh Jabet, 22, both of Calgary, have been arrested on Canada-wide warrants‎ for second-degree murder and have been remanded into custody in Montreal.
