Police are investigating after a 20 year old man was dropped off at the downtown Calgary medical centre, at around 9pm on January 23 suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Doctors found the man outside in life threatening condition and transferred him to Foothills Hospital for treatment.
The victim died in hospital this morning of his injury.

Update January 25th
Police have identified the victim as Itgel Baatarsuren, 22. Baatarsuren was left at the Sheldon Chumir Health Centre by a person driving a white Pontiac G5.
Calgary police were call to the 0-100 block of Fonda Drive SE on December 25th at around 6:30pm on report of an injured man. The man was rushed to hospital where he died from his injuries.
Calgary police have charged Morris Stern in what they are calling a fatal stabbing. Police said Stern and the victim were known to each other. Stern has been charged with manslaughter.

Calgary police released the name of the Christmas day homicide victim. 45 year old Mark Maurice Mitchell’s name was announced once his next of kin was notified.

Calgary police were called to a residence on San Diego Way om Saturday December 3 for a check on welfare. When police arrived they did not find anyone in need of help.
Calgary Police received a call on December 4th reporting a possible murder that happened at the same home as the address the night before.
Police located the body of Ezzulddin Al-Ogaidi north of Morley on Monday December 5th. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Ahmed Abid, 24, Mohammed Khalil, 28, and Ashraf Jasem Ajil, 23, have all been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
UPDATE December 8th
Martin Hamid Ahmet, 21, has been charged with manslaughter in the death of Al-Ogaid as well as careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm without a license and possession of a weapon obtained by crime.
The Death of Al-Ogaidi is the 27th homicide for Calgary this year. The 2016 Calgary homicide victims list is available here.
On November 22 a man went to the Calgary Fire Department station at around 1:20 am saying that he needed help for hi injured roommate. Emergency crews arrived at the home on 1800 block of 17 Street S.W. to find 58 year old Richard Pember deceased.
Zachery Frederick Rider, 36, of no fixed address, has been charged with with second-degree murder, and aggravated assault on the man that contacted the fire department.
The death of Richard Pember is the 26th homicide in Calgary this year. The Calgary homicide victim list is available here.
Calgary police were called to the 2400 block of 47 St. S.E in the community of Forest Lawn on November 11th at around 5am on reports of gunshots.
Police arrived to find Abiem Kuol Akel Abiem 23 dead in a basement suite. Witnesses said they saw 3 men running from the scene, and jump into a small white car.
Police arrested three men in the evening of November 11th.

Calgary Police are investigating after emergency crews were called to a home on the 100 block of Riverbend Drive S.E on October 31 at around 10:30am on report of an injured man.
On arrival Kyle Rowe 26, was found in the back seat of a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics declared Rowe dead at the scene.
Police said the victim was known to police and that they believe the attack was targeted.

Calgary police responded to a check on welfare at an apartment building on 90 Avenue SW on October 9th at around 10am. Police arrived to find Sutton Raymond Bowers 33, dead at the entrance of the home.
James Andrew Beaver, 51, and Brian John Lambert, 41, were arrested at the scene and have been charged with manslaughter.
Police said it has been confirmed that there was altercation between the three men, and Beaver and Lambert had left after the confrontation, returned home and notified the police.
Calgary police were called to a home on Rideau Place SW, on October 4th on report of a death. Police arrived to find Audrey Van Zuiden 80, dead and her husband Siegfried (Fred) Van Zuiden 85, at the scene.
Fred Van Zuiden a WWII survivor and author of “Call Me Mom” place the 911 call at around 4:15am to alert police of the death. Police said the death was “domestic in nature” but did not release the cause of death.
Fred Van Zuiden has been charged with second degree murder and is due to appear in court October 5th.
Alvin Chiniquay 40, had just arrived at the Calgary Remand Centre a few days before the beating after being picked up for shoplifting. On
September 9th Chiniquay was attacked by Marlon Ledesma 32, Chiniquay’s family fear the attack was a hate crime. The entire attack was caught on camera.
Chiniquay was sent to hospital where he remained on life support until he passed away 10 days later. Ledesma the cellmate of Chiniquay is facing a first degree murder charge.
