Update: Victim Identified – York Regional Police investigate a suspicious death in the City of Markham.

York Regional Police responded to a report of an injured man outside of a residence on Marydale Avenue, on June 6th at approximately 9:00pm.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a severely injured 45-year-old man from Toronto. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced at the scene. The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area, or anyone who may have been driving in the area at the time with a dash-cam to contact the Homicide Unit at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7865, or email the Homicide Unit at homicide@yrp.ca.

Update June 16th
York Regional police have identified the victim as Mathan Mahalingham, 45, from the City of Toronto. An autopsy revealed the manner of death to be a homicide, the cause of death had not been released.
