St Catharines uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to report of an assault at a home on Densgrove Road near Vine Street in St. Catharines, on May 29th at approximately 4:40pm.
Police arrived at the home and found a woman in her 60’s deceased. The cause of death has not been released and the victim’s identity will not be released at the request of next of kin.
Gregory M. Tkachyk, 60, was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree murder. A publication ban has been put in place, Niagara Regional Police are unable to provide further information on the homicide.
