Winnipeg police and the K9 Unit, responded to the 500 block of Furby Street for the report of a critically injured male on June 2, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m.

Police arrived to find 46-year-old Abubakarr KOROMA of Winnipeg injured and provided emergency medical care until WFPS arrived. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

His death is considered a homicide, and investigators are continuing to gather information regarding this incident. It is believed an altercation took place between the deceased and another individual, resulting in his fatal injuries.
