Vancouver police responded to the report of a deceased man inside a home near West 3rd Avenue and MacDonald Street on December 10th at approximately 11:00am.
The victim has been identified as 77-year-old Justis Daniel. The cause of death has not been released, however, police day his death is a homicide.
Police are looking for dash-cam footage and witnesses who were in the area of Tatlow Park and the adjacent streets of Point Grey Road and West 3rd Avenue between Balaclava and MacDonald streets between 7 a.m. on December 9 and 11 a.m. December 10. Anyone with information is asked to call VPD’s Major Crime Section at 604-717-2500.
Update Vancouver Police have released surveillance photos of Justis Daniel from the day he was murdered and ask for witnesses to come forward.
Constable Tania Visintin of the VPS said “We are releasing these images with hopes they will jog the memory of anyone who saw or spoke with him that day.” She added “We believe someone out there could have valuable information that can help us solve this case.”
Update March 28th
Inspector Dale Weidman, officer in charge of VPD’s Major Crime Section announced that after a review of all evidence, investigators identified a 51-year-old suspect. Brent Steven White was arrested on Saturday March 26th in the afternoon and has since been charged with second degree murder.
