Gatineau police were called to to boulevard des Allumettières near rue Saint-Rédempteur on September 26th at approximately 6:15am.

On arrival police located Maxim Bourgon-Frigon, 35, suffering from injuries. Police said his injuries could have been caused by a firearm. He died of his injuries.

Police arrested a 56-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, both known to the SPVG. A charge of second-degree murder has been granted by the Director of Criminal and Criminal Prosecutions (DPCP) against Philippe Cyr, 56, of Gatineau

Update on April 29th 2026, a jury found 58-year-old Philippe Cyr guilty of second-degree murder in connection with the death of Maxim Bourgon-Frigon, who was discovered with fatal injuries in Hull in September 2024.
