Two Bruce Mines residents are facing charges following the death of a 23-year-old man after an alleged disturbance at a local restaurant.

According to the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police, officers responded to reports of a disturbance at a restaurant in Bruce Mines on March 29. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Caleb Foster of Desbarats, was taken to hospital for treatment.

Foster later died from his injuries on April 3, prompting a death investigation by police.

As a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both from Bruce Mines, have each been charged with manslaughter. The 21-year-old also faces an additional charge of assault.

Both accused are scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake Court on July 2.
