The victim of a violent stabbing in downtown Calgary last month has succumbed to his injuries.

Police said the incident took place on the evening of Thursday, July 24, 2025, at approximately 8:40 p.m., when police were called to the 0–100 block of Dermot Baldwin Way S.E. following reports of a stabbing and robbery.

Officers arrived to find a man suffering from serious stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

On Wednesday, August 13, nearly three weeks after the attack, the victim passed away from his injuries.

Following an autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the victim has been identified as 37-year-old Gurdeep Singh Mundi.

Update: Following further investigation and a series of court proceedings, those charges have now been upgraded to second-degree murder. The accused, Neil Henderson, 36, and Donovan Cameron Collins, 34, appeared in court on Wednesday, October 1, and were remanded into custody. Their next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, October 22.
