Montreal police were called to a stabbing at August 16th at approximately 9:15pm at Roman-Zytynsky Park in Montreal’s Saint-Laurent borough.

Montreal police say a 22-year-old and two other victims, both 19, were stabbed in the upper body during the same altercation. Officers responded to the scene on Jules-Poitras Street.

All three victims were rushed to hospital. Tragically, the 22-year-old, Aboubakar Ahmat Yayha, later died of his injuries. One of the 19-year-olds remains in critical condition, while the other is reported to be stable.

The cause of the conflict is still unclear, and no arrests have been made. The case has now been handed over to the major crimes unit as investigators work to piece together what happened.
