Update: Jelani DeJonge-Reece charged, Warrant issued for Tamah McLean – Toronto Police Provide Update on Ongoing Homicide Investigation of Jordan Thompson

At around 8:30 p.m., on June 9, 2025, Toronto police responded to a call in the area of Cedar Drive and Eglinton Avenue East. When they arrived, they found a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby trauma centre but was later pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Jordan Thompson of Toronto.

Police believe multiple suspects may be involved and are actively working to locate them.

Update: On Saturday, June 14, 2025, police arrested Jelani DeJonge-Reece, 24, of Toronto. He has been charged with Second Degree Murder and is scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre (2201 Finch Avenue West) on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 10 a.m. in courtroom 107.

Suspect Still Wanted:
A second suspect, Tamah McLean, 31, of Toronto, is still being sought. A Canada-Wide Warrant has been issued for his arrest on a charge of Second Degree Murder.

Police have released his image and are warning the public not to approach him. If seen, call police immediately.
