Toronto police responded to a call reporting a shooting in the area of Fairholme Avenue and Shermount Avenue on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 4:05 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man outside a residential address on Fairholme Avenue who had been shot. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim has been identified as Mariano De-Marco, a 69-year-old man from Toronto.
Update: On Tuesday, December 24, 2024, Mauricio Sosa Guillen, 51, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
- First Degree Murder
He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 105.
