Toronto police responded to a call for a Stabbing at a residence in the Ellesmere Road and Orton Park Road area on September 29, 2024, at approximately 4:53 p.m.

On arrival police located Dushi Lakshmanan, 54, suffering from injuries from an edged weapon. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Ragulan Lakshmanan, 50, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.

Police have not released the relationship between the victim and the accused.

He was scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., in room 107.
