Toronto police responded to the report of unknown trouble in the area of Victoria Park Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East on May 17th at approximately 6:25pm.
Police arrived at the scene to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were rushed to hospital where one man died of his injuries.
Homicide investigators are asking any witnesses who were in the area at the time, or have security footage, dash-cam video or any information, to contact police at 416-808-7400.
Update May 19th
Toronto police have identified the city’s 28th homicide victim as identified as Shawn Williams, 34, of Toronto. Marcus Nugent, 30, of Toronto, surrendered to police on May 17th and was charged with second-degree murder.
