A woman is dead following a shooting in Toronto’s Rexdale neighbourhood on Friday morning, and police have since arrested a suspect.
Toronto police were called to the area of Humberwood Boulevard and Rexdale Boulevard at approximately 7:23 a.m. on July 24th after receiving reports of a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.
When emergency crews arrived, the woman, 26-year-old Navneet Kaur, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police initially said the suspect had fled the area and no description was immediately available. However, investigators later confirmed that a suspect has been arrested and that there are no outstanding suspects.
Toronto Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.
Update: Sharnjeet Singh, 37, of Brampton, has been arrested and charged with:
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
- First Degree Murder
