Toronto police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of The East Mall and Rathburn Road on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at approximately 5:28 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found two male victims and immediately began life-saving efforts. Both victims were rushed to the hospital, where one, identified as 16-year-old Isaiah Fogah from Toronto, later died from his injuries. The other victim remains in serious condition.

This marks Toronto’s second homicide of 2025.
Update: Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit identified and located two suspects in connection with this homicide.
Elliut Xavier Yera, 18, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
- Attempt Murder
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
Shamone Pompey-Thomas, 20, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
- Attempt Murder
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit arrested a third individual in connection with this homicide.
Taven Tinashe Cassoma, 18, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
