Toronto police responded to a medical call in front of 51 Comstock Road on March 18th at approximately 8:45 pm.
Police arrived to find 51-year-old Dobroslav “Bobby” Manchev suffering from obvious signs of trauma. Despite lifesaving efforts, Manchev was pronounced deceased at the scene. A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for Friday, March 20, 2020 to determine the exact cause of death.
Update: It has been reported that Drobroslav Manchev was sentenced to six years in prison back in 2001 for his involvement in a crime ring where members impersonated police on drug raids and robbed drug dealers in an attempt to raise money to import ecstasy from Europe.
Update March 30th
Toronto homicide investigators arrested Joseph Paquet, 48, of Toronto on March 29th and charged him with one count of first-degree murder. Paquet is scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, on Monday, March 30, 2020.
