Toronto police responded to a sooting in the Bloor Street West and Concord Avenue area on April 14th at approximately 10:45 p.m.
Police arrived to find 24-year-old Munawar Warsama of Toronto who had been shot. Life-saving measures were performed, however, Warsama was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Update April 27th
On Thursday, April 27, Toronto Police Service executed numerous Criminal Code Search Warrants, and arrested four men.
Duan Julien, 24, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
Deniell McKenzie, 21, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
Daniel Lara-Orellana, 25, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
Matthew Phillips-Downey, 23, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
All four men appeared in court remotely on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Old City Hall, 60 Queen Street West, in room 111.
