Bancroft OPP responded to the report of an alleged assault at a Faraday Street home on March 8th at approximately 9:00 p.m.

Police and paramedics arrived to find Judson Gunter, 69, of Bancroft, suffering from serious injuries. Judson Gunter was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

The OPP’s Emergency Response Team, the OPP Canine Unit, and an OPP helicopter conducted a search of the area for a suspect. Police arrested Timothy Gunter, 42, of Bancroft, on March 9th and charged him with assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation. Police have not released the relationship between the victim and the suspect.
