Just after 2:30 a.m. on May 5, 2024, Thunder Bay police responded to an incident near Camelot and St. Paul streets. 20-year-old Tyler Blouin, was found injured and taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

On August 6, 2025, a 23-year-old Thunder Bay man, Brady Nugent, pleaded guilty to manslaughter. He had originally faced second-degree murder charges.

As of November 2025, a date for Nugent’s sentencing has not yet been set, with the court expected to finalize it in the coming weeks.
