Thomas Parsley charged in connection to the homicide of a man in St. John’s NFLD

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said a 66-year-old man was assaulted with a weapon shortly after 6 p.m. December 19th at the Waterford psychiatric hospital in St. John’s.

The victim was taken to the Health Sciences Centre with life-threatening injuries after the incident where he died of his injuries. 

At the time Thomas Parsley, 30, was charged with attempted murder and assault with a weapon. He appeared in provincial court on Saturday, December 21st to those charges upgraded to second-degree murder. Police said Parsley was sent back to the Waterford hospital for an assessment.

According to CBC Parsley is an involuntary patient in the care of a psychiatrist at the Waterford.
