Sandy Bay RCMP said local healthcare providers were called to a residence in Sandy Bay, to provide medical care to an unresponsive male on February 25th at 10:00pm.

33-year-old Darnell Bear was found with serious injuries and was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested 31-year-old Thomas Johnny Bernard Ross of Sandy Bay. Ross was charged with Second Degree Murder, and made his first court appearance on February 27th.
