Family friend charged with the murder of 13-year-old Océane Boyer in the Laurentians

Quebec provincial police said the body of a young teenaged girl was found by the side of a road in Brownsburg-Chatham on February 26th at approximately 11:15 am. The girl’s family reported her missing the evening of February 26th.

Police said her body bore marks of violence, and police believe her death was a homicide. She was declared deceased in hospital shortly after. The cause of death has not been released.

Update February 27th:
Quebec provincial police said they arrested François Sénécal, 51, February 27th in connection with the violent death of Océane Boyer, 13. It is alleged that Sénécal forced Boyer to take a large dose of medicine and alcohol before beating her to death with a blunt object.  According to reports, the accused and the victim’s family had been close for years.
