The RNC responded to a call for assistance by paramedics at a home in the Mitchell Court area of St John’s on March 16th at approximately 10:53 pm where an 82-year-old woman was located unconscious.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police were initially investigating the death as suspicious, however, they announced on March 25, that The RNC Criminal Investigation Division are investigating the death as a homicide. The victim has been identified as Mildred (Millie) Brake.

Update on June 22, 2023, as a result of the investigation, 27-year-old Brandon TOBIN from St. John’s stands charged with manslaughter and failure to comply with court order.
