Surrey RCMP lay second degree murder in relation to the death of a 55-year-old man

Surrey RCMP received multiple reports of a man walking around a parking lot with a machete in the 10100-block of King George Boulevard on August 18th at approximately 11:22 p.m. According to reports police on their way when they were updated that the man allegedly struck a vehicle with the machete and an altercation ensued with the two occupants of the vehicle.

On arrival police located a man with significant life-threatening injuries was located. The victim, a 55-year-old man was transported to hospital, where he died of his injuries on August 23.

On August 19, 31-year-old Parminder Singh Brar and 21-year-old Simarpal Singh were charged with aggravated assault, their charges have been upgraded to second degree murder.
