Police responded to the report of two seriously injured people on Chemin des Cerisiers, on December 1st at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Police and paramedics arrived to find 60-year-old Janet Larabie with obvious signs of trauma, and an injured man tied up with life-threatening injuries, who was rushed to hospital for treatment.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has confirmed that its investigation is into a murder, but at this time no murder charges have been laid.
The Sûreté du Québec announced that 51-year-old Éric Trudel of Gatineau was charged with kidnapping and assault in connection to the death. Police also arrested Sylvain Trépanier, 47, and Alexandre Paré, 30, on two counts of forcible confinement and one count of assault.
According to Radio-Canada, the two victims both in their sixties were known to the police in connection with the sale of narcotics.
