Durham Regional Police responded to the area of Foxwood Trail and Weyburn Square in Pickering on reports of a possible collision on December 1st at approximately 5:00am.

Police located Sheila Hercules, 64, on the scene with significant injuries. She was transported to a Toronto-area hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Investigators determined that her injuries were caused by an assault, not the collision. 

25-year old Aidan Hercules, the victim’s son, also located at the scene has been taken into custody. Aidan has been charged with Second Degree Murder.
