The SQ responded to a 911 report of a seriously injured man at an apartment on Pierre d’Anjou Street on November 29th.

Police and paramedics arrived to find an injured 35-year-old man who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police have not released his identity or cause of death. According to reports the victim was Michael Lévesque Fitzpatrick, a Rimouski resident with a long criminal record.

Guillaume Proulx, 30, of Rimouski, was taken into custody in Trois-Rivières on November 20 on a charge of first-degree murder. He appeared in court the next day and has remained behind bars since.

More recently, a police operation on Tuesday resulted in the arrest of two additional suspects. Doneil-Josiah Levy-Porter and Jahshai Cooper, both 19 and from Brampton, Ontario, were arrested by Peel Regional Police. Each has been charged with first-degree murder and was ordered held in custody following their court appearances.

Update December 2025: According to the Canadian Press Quebec provincial police say a 21-year-old man has been arrested in Hamilton, Ontario, in connection with the alleged planned killing of Michael Lévesque-Fitzpatrick.

In a news release issued on December 24th 2025, the Sûreté du Québec said the suspect has been charged with first-degree murder. Investigators allege the accused is connected to Project Wrangler, a joint Ontario–Quebec investigation that examined a series of crimes committed across both provinces between April 2024 and March 2025.

Police describe the case as part of a broader, multi-jurisdictional effort targeting organized criminal activity.
