Additional Charges Laid in Separate Incident: Stephen Doane Now Charged with Second-Degree Murder in Tracy Duncan’s Death in Ottawa

Ottawa Police responded to a call around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, where they found the female victim in her residence on Carousel Crescent.

The victim has been identified as 54-year-old Tracy Duncan from Ottawa. Her death is being treated as a femicide.

Stephen Doane, 57, also of Ottawa, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Update: The ongoing homicide investigation has resulted in additional charges being laid against Stephen. On Monday, June 2, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Ottawa Police were called to a medical facility in the 1100 block of Carling Avenue for a report of an assault in progress. One person sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, Stephen Doane was charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon and aggravated assault. He remains in custody.
