Steinbach RCMP received a report of a firearm having been discharged at a residence located in Blumenort on August 1st.

Police and paramedics attended to the residence and located a 27-year-old male, from Blumenort, with critical injuries who was pronounced deceased on scene.

A 43-year-old male, who resides at this residence and was not physically injured, was arrested on scene and remains in police custody.

Steinbach RCMP, along with Major Crime Services and RCMP Forensic Identification Services, continue to investigate.
