Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of an active weapons incident in the Salter Place area of St. John’s on July 24, 2025, at around 10:40 a.m. Early reports suggested that a shooting had taken place.
When police arrived, they found a 30-year-old man deceased with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Terry Griffin.
Police arrested Corey Snook, While Snook remains a suspect in the homicide, he has not been charged with Griffin’s death at the moment. He has been charged with two counts each of uttering threats and assault with a weapon for earlier alleged incidents, some against Griffin.
Corey Snook has been taken into custody by police. While he is still considered a suspect in the homicide case, no charges have been laid in connection with Griffin’s death at this time. However, Snook is facing separate charges, including two counts of uttering threats and two counts of assault with a weapon, related to earlier incidents, some of which involved Griffin.
