Calgary police stated in a press release that a Dodge Journey, traveling at a high rate of speed on southbound 52 Street, close to the interchange with 16 Avenue N.E., was struck from behind by a 2008 Buick Allure on May 13th at approximately 2:30am.
15-year-old Ibaad Yar was ejected from the Dodge Journey after it crossed the median. Yar was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police said the driver of the Buick fled the scene, and his vehicle was located unoccupied in the Saddleridge area.
Udham Sandhu, 37, the driver of the Buick, has been charged with second degree murder and dangerous driving causing death.
Police are searching for in a Chevrolet Tahoe observed at a residence in the Saddleridge area, prior to and after the occurrence. The Tahoe is believed to be a 2015-2020 model, dark in colour, with alloy wheels. The photos of the Tahoe are available here.

Update July 15th
Calgary police have arrested and charged Mahipal RAJPUT, 39, of Calgary, with second degree murder. His next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, July 20, 2020.
