Saskatoon, Saskatchewan 2026 Homicide Victim List
In the early morning hours of February 3, 2026, at around 5:30 a.m., Saskatoon police were alerted to a serious incident involving two young men who arrived at St. Paul’s Hospital seeking medical attention for stab wound injuries. Both men, who were 25 years old, were treated by hospital staff after presenting with the injuries. The deceased has been identified as Kiefer Kitchemonia.
Tragically, one of the men later succumbed to his wounds. The second victim survived the attack and is currently listed in stable condition.
Avyn Ahenakew, 18, was charged with public mischief, obstruction, and being an accessory, after police allege he provided a false confession during a homicide investigation.
Update March 4th: A second male has been charged in connection the homicide. Saskatoon police said a 26-year-old male is charged with Aggravated Assault and Manslaughter.
