A shooting on Louis Bull First Nation led to a shelter-in-place order and serious criminal charges. RCMP responded just after midnight on February 4th and began searching for armed suspects in the community.

Inside a home, officers found a 23-year-old man, Zyon Littlepoplar deceased, while a 54-year-old man was rushed to hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.

With support from RCMP air services, a police dog, and the emergency response team, three suspects were arrested. Police allege one person carried out the shooting, while the other two were later released. Edmonton resident Dallas Daniel Lee, 27, has been charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder. He remains in custody and is expected to appear in court.
