Saskatoon police were called to a motel in the 2000 block of Avenue B North following reports of a person with a gunshot wound at around 5:00 a.m. on May 17, 2025 .
On arrival, police found a 20-year-old man who was seriously injured. He was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. Police are still searching for a second suspect, 26-year-old Lawrence Opikokew, who remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. He is described as Indigenous, 6’4” tall, weighing 190 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes.
