Samantha VanBelleghem charged with Manslaughter in relation to the death of a Woodstock man in January 2020

The Woodstock Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch started an investigation into the death of a 26 year old Oxford County man on January 29th, 2020.

After a lengthy investigation, Woodstock police arrested Samantha VanBelleghem, 34, on  June 3, 2020 and charged her with:

  • Traffic in a Schedule 1 substance (fentanyl)
  • Manslaughter
  • Fail to Comply with Probation x2
  • Fail to comply with Undertaking

Police Const. Nikki VanLeeuwen said “We will not be sharing the cause of death at this time and in this stage of the investigation. We can confirm it was related to fentanyl.”
