Update: Two women and a man charged with the murder of Emerson Sprung in Meaford Ontario

Grey Bruce OPP said Emerson Sprung, 25, left his family’s home on May 2nd on his bicycle at approximately 9:00pm and was reported missing by his mother on May 3rd.

Police said Sprung’s remains were found by the service’s canine unit on May 3rd in Meaford. The OPP Criminal investigation branch determined the death to be a homicide.

Matthew McQuarrie, 34, of Meaford was charged with first-degree murder.

Update June 9
Police are looking to speak with an unknown person who was seen in video footage collected from a private camera at Grant Avenue on May 2nd, at 8:59 p.m. and at 9:10 p.m.

The person is believed to be a male wearing a dark-coloured coat with a stripe or logo that extends around the mid-section of the coat, wearing dark pants and light-coloured shoes.

Update July 23
On July 22, 2020 police arrested Laurel Campbell, 28, of Meaford, and charged her with accessory after the fact to murder. Bridget Taylor Smith, 25, of Meaford, was also arrested and charged been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
