The fatal shooting occurred shortly after 11 p.m. on April 29 at a residence on Marsolet Street. Larouche, 38, was shot in the abdomen and was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. He died one week later as a result of those injuries.

Police arrested 41-year-old Robin Paradis in connection with the homicide of Therry Larouchetwo months later. Paradis, is now facing a charge of second-degree murder.

According to information obtained by Le Journal, investigators with the Sûreté du Québec initially attempted to arrest Paradis during a police operation on Brochu Street earlier this week. However, he was not at the location at the time, reportedly having learned of the planned search.

Later that evening, members of the Tactical Intervention Group successfully located and arrested Paradis. He was questioned by investigators overnight before making his first court appearance Thursday afternoon at the Sept-Îles courthouse.

Police say both the victim and the accused were well known to authorities, with Paradis having a lengthy criminal history, particularly involving drug-related offences.
