RNC Deems a Sudden Death in St. John’s a Homicide

RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a call for assistance in the area of Mayor Avenue and Newtown Road, St. John’s, following the report of a man injured and in distress on February 7th at approximately 5:00pm.

On arrival police located a 22-year-old man, of St. John’s, who had sustained serious life-threatening injuries. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. His identity has not been released.

An autopsy was completed and on February 9th the Chief Medical Examiner determined the sudden death to be a homicide.
