Son charged in the murder of retired Ottawa police officer in Val-des-Monts

 MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police officers were called to a home on chemin de la Moisson Sunday around 11:30 p.m on Nov. 15th where they found retired Ottawa Police officer Guy Giroux, 63, was found dead.

Giroux joined the force in November 1981 and retired in February 2012.

Sûreté du Québec has taken over the investigation and said Giroux body showed signs of violence. Giroux’s son, Marc-André Giroux, 31, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

The cause of death has not been released at this time.
