Prince Albert police responded to a 911 call reporting an unknown emergency in the 900 block of 12th Street West at around 8:22 a.m. on November 27, 2025. Additional details indicated that a shooting had taken place.
On arrival police located a 16-year-old girl with life-threatening injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts from paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterward.
A 17-year-old male who was inside the residence when police arrived was taken into custody and remains detained as the investigation continues.
As part of the ongoing investigative work, members of the Major Crimes Unit and the Forensic Identification Section executed a search warrant at the same residence on November 28, 2025. The teen arrested at the scene has since been charged with breaching court-imposed conditions, though no additional charges related to the homicide have been filed at this time.
The Forensic Identification Section was also present at the scene to support evidence collection, and residents can expect an increased police presence in the area while investigators continue their work.
