At around 8:30 a.m. on June 23, 2025, officers responded to a report of an injured woman at a residence near Charles Bay and Charles Way.

When they arrived, they found the woman in critical condition. Despite efforts by EMS to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case has now been handed over to the EPS Homicide Section. An autopsy has not yet been scheduled.

Update: An autopsy was completed on June 26th and revealed that Ramona Bowen, 45, died of sharp force trauma, and the manner of death was homicide. Police have now charged 41-year-old Matthew Harper with second-degree murder. Investigators said he is known to the victim.
