Backstory: Ottawa police were alerted after possible human remains were dug up at a construction site on Deschamps Avenue near Desrosiers Street in the afternoon of September 28th.
The remains were taken in for forensic identification and on October 30th police announced that the victim has been identified as 39-year-old Mary Papatsie of Ottawa. Papatsie was reported missing in April of 2017, and was last seen in the Vanier area of the city on April 27th, 2017. The cause of death has not been released at this time.

According to reports Papatsie was originally from Pangnirtung, Nunavut, on Baffin Island. She was a mother of 10 children.
