Update: Saskatoon police searching for Jonathan Ouellet-Gendron, who is wanted for First-degree Murder – One man killed and two injured in a Saskatoon shooting

Saskatoon police responded to the report of an injured man in the 100 block of Main Street East on May 19th at around 4:30pm. Shortly after police responded to shots being fired in the 700 block of Melrose Avenue. Police said in addition, another injured male was reported to have been transported to City Hospital.

On arrival at the 700 block of Melrose, police and paramedics located a deceased 29-year-old male behind an apartment building. His identity has not been released at this time.

Police are searching for two men of slim builds fleeing the area in dark clothing; one carrying a bag with a strap. Investigators are requesting residents in the area enclosed by Saskatchewan Crescent East, Victoria Avenue, Main Street, and the Idylwyld Drive Freeway with access to security cameras to review the footage between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. on May 19, 2022 for signs of suspicious activity. Anyone with information is asked to call Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300.

Update May 25th
Saskatoon police are requesting assistance in locating Jonathan Ouellet-Gendron, who is wanted on a First Degree Murder charge. Ouellet-Gendron is described as 5’6” in height, approximately 140 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. He has numerous tattoos including a Mayan statue on his right hand, a black rose on his left wrist and a gorilla on his upper torso.
