One dead and three injured in a downtown Montreal stabbing

Montreal police responded to the report of a man in crisis on Drummond Street near Sherbrooke Street W on June 26th at approximately 6:50am.

Police said the man allegedly attacked his mother and 72-year-old stepfather, with a sharp object before stabbing another woman in another apartment, and a security guard, 54, who tried to intervene.

The victim’s stepfather was pronounced deceased in hospital, and the other three are expected to survive.

Police have not released what charges the suspect may be facing.
