One dead and one injured in Richmond Hill while attending the funeral for Gidid Mohamed, Toronto’s 41st homicide victim

 Const. Maniva Armstrong said they were alerted of an active shooter at Toronto Muslim Cemetery, located at 13076 Leslie Street on August 11th at approximately 3:30pm.

On arrival York Region police and paramedics located a 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victims were rushed to hospital where the 26-year-old man died of his injuries. The victim has been identified as Ayub Hirsi Ali.

According to reports the shooting happened as guests of the funeral for Gidid Mohamed were leaving the cemetery. 

Police said the suspects fled the scene in an older model SUV and were last seen northbound on Leslie Street. The suspects are described as: Male, Black, wearing hoodies and masks.

Investigators believe the deceased was targeted.
