Colchester County District RCMP and Cumberland County District RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Sand Point Hill Ln. and Wharf Road in Five Islands on January 9th at approximately 7:05 pm.

On arrival police located a deceased woman inside a home on Sand Point Hill Ln. Her identity has not been released.

On January 10th at approximately 8:30 a.m., Cumberland County District RCMP officers safely took a person of interest into custody.
