Surrey RCMP said they attended a residence in the 15600-block of 112 Avenue on January 9th at approximately 12:00pm.
On arrival, officers discovered three deceased persons inside the home who they believe were from the same family. Investigators said there was nobody else at the home when they arrived, and they don’t believe there is any ongoing risk to public safety.
IHIT spokesperson Sgt. Timothy Pierotti said it appears to be a murder-suicide “We can say that we believe there’s no outstanding suspects, anything like that, or any outstanding murder weapons.”
Update: The deceased have been identified as 58-year-old Li (Leo) Li, 56-year-old Xiao Yan (Tiffany) Zhen and 24-year-old Daniel Li. Police have not disclosed who the victims were at this time.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with Surrey RCMP. Anyone with information is asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
