Update: Charges Laid – New Brunswick police search for two suspects in relation to the homicide of Nicholas Trenholm in Petit-Cap

Shediac RCMP responded to a report of break and enter at a residence on Route 950 in Petit-Cap on December 8th at approximately 12:40am.

On arrival police located 55-year-old Nicholas Trenholm deceased inside the home. Investigators have not released the cause the death, but said his death is a homicide.

Investigators said police learned there were two men involved in the incident, who fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived. There is currently no suspect information.

Anyone who lives in the area who may have video surveillance footage, or who witnessed suspicious activity in the late evening hours of December 7 or early morning hours of December 8 is asked to contact police at 1-888-506-RCMP (7267).

Update January 19th, 2022
On January 18th RCMP arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the investigation outside a business on High Street, in Moncton. Police conducted a search at a home on Chemin Poucette, in Saint-Andre-Leblanc where police seized significant amounts of what is believed to be crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl. They also seized two firearms and drug trafficking paraphernalia including three digital scales and a money-counting machine.

Cole Alexander McFadden was charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited.
