Montreal police are investigating the death of Manuel De Jesus Garcia Zamora, a 42-year-old unhoused man in the city’s Sud-Ouest borough.

Montreal police responded to a 911 call reporting a fight between two individuals near the Place-Saint-Henri Metro station around 3:20 a.m, on November 2nd.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, Manuel De Jesus Garcia Zamora, 42, in a wooded area between the Metro station and nearby railway tracks. He had a severe upper-body wound, believed to have been caused by a sharp weapon.

He was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.

Update November 5th: Montreal police announced that Nigel Moses, 40, has been charged with second-degree murder. The other two men, Leamcharoeung Yort, 50, and Vincent Gagné Giard, 29, are facing charges of aggravated assault.

Quebec Court Judge Nathalie Fafard said that Moses had been sought by authorities since 2021, after he failed to appear in court for a case involving a charge of breaching a probation order.
